The design and construction industries continue to weather challenges—the Great Recession of 2008 and COVID-19, for example. These obstacles, along with a desire to decarbonize buildings—has turned attention to the vast inventory of existing building stock and the opportunities it presents. Building owners, too, are finding cheaper leases within empty spaces or are retrofitting their current spaces in hopes of improving value for current and future tenants. retrofit is the only publication and website focused entirely on what now is a prominent market category.
