Dualis, the newest bath collection from Watermark Designs, pairs simple forms with handle inlays in metal or one of three natural marbles: Carrara, Calacatta and Marrone. The material options give designers a way to connect the fittings to stone and metal finishes used throughout the bathroom while keeping the overall forms simple. The spouts were also designed to reach farther into the basin for easier use.
Rather than building the collection around dozens of variations, Dualis is limited to three handle profile options that carry across basin, bath, bidet and shower fittings, including:
- Linear Lever that follows the form of the spout
- A four-lobed Clover Knob, inspired by fine jewelry
- A smaller Linear Knob for thermostatic and diverter controls
Carrara and Calacatta marbles were chosen in part because they are among the marbles most often specified in high-end bathrooms. Their lighter, neutral coloring makes them easy to pair with other white and gray stones, while Calacatta’s warmer veining also works with gold tones.
Because the inlays are cut from natural stone, the veining and coloration vary, making each fitting unique.
Marrone is the darkest of the three marble options, with brown and charcoal tones that can tie in with darker stones and finishes elsewhere in the bathroom.
For an all-metal option, the inlay can match the fitting finish exactly or use a contrasting metal finish for a two-tone look.
Each piece is manufactured in Watermark’s Brooklyn factory, where the company has been producing and finishing luxury fittings for more than five decades.
