ECOsurfaces has introduced three new additions to its Rx Collection: Sylvan Rx, Meridian Rx and Marlowe Rx. Designed for commercial spaces where aesthetics and performance are equally important, the new surfaces expand the collection with wood, linen and heathered tweed visuals while delivering ergonomic and acoustic benefits for health care, education, hospitality, corporate, multifamily, senior care and other commercial environments.

Each of the new Rx Collection products features a 2 mm heterogeneous vinyl surface layer fusion-bonded to a 5 mm vulcanized composition rubber (VCR) base layer using Ecore’s proprietary itsTRU technology. The resulting 7 mm surface combines the design versatility of vinyl with a performance backing engineered to provide comfort underfoot, sound control and ergonomic support.

The three new products provide distinct aesthetics for a range of commercial interiors: 

  • Sylvan Rx features an on-trend wood visual available in five colors, bringing the warmth and appearance of wood to spaces where people live, learn and heal.
  • Meridian Rx features a linen-inspired visual available in eight colors, offering a subtle, sophisticated aesthetic for spaces where comfort and well-being are important.
  • Marlowe Rx features a non-directional heathered tweed pattern available in eight colors, providing a versatile visual for environments ranging from healthcare and education to hospitality and multifamily spaces.

Built on Ecore’s itsTRU technology, the surfaces use a proprietary manufacturing process that fusion-bonds the VCR backing to the vinyl surface layer. This combination creates Ecore’s NRG Factor, where the base layer works to absorb force while returning useful energy to the body. The new Rx surfaces provide 12.1 percent force reduction and 64.5 percent energy restitution. The combination of force reduction and energy restitution can support comfort for those on their feet for long hours, such as clinicians and educators; help manage sound in spaces like hospitality and senior care; and soften the impact of falls, creating more supportive commercial environments.

Designed for seamless, easy-to-maintain installations, the three surfaces can be heat-welded to create a hygienic surface and provide acoustic benefits for demanding commercial environments. The products have been tested against a range of performance standards for abrasion resistance, dynamic rolling loads, slip resistance, force reduction, acoustics and flammability.  

Applications include medical and acute care environments, therapy and rehabilitation spaces, offices and common areas, K-12 and higher education, childcare and play zones, and other commercial spaces.
